Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for a Shipping Coordinator for a key position with our Order Entry team.  The position will be based in Palo Alto and reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with the Manufacturing team.

Purpose of Position

The position is responsible for ensuring that daily orders are shipped in a timely basis to our customers.  The Shipping Coordinator works with our common carrier providers to complete all necessary shipment paperwork for orders.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping of systems and associated materials.  Also, coordinate shipment of customer orders of brochures and disposable products.
  • Receive and process system installation documents
  • Initiate commission processing documents
  • Track demo and luminary systems in the field, including international carnet tracking
  • Provide backup support for front desk responsibilities
  • Other responsibilities as required

Experience and Education

    • This position requires at least an associate college degree.
    • Two to three years previous experience in a Shipping Department.
    • International shipping and carnet processing experience.
    • Proficient computer skills including Excel is required. QAD ERP system experience a plus.
    • Proficient interpersonal, communication and writing skills are also required.

Assembly Technician – Temp Assignment

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for an Assembler. In this position you are responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Position will be based in Palo Alto, CA. and report to Manufacturing Manager.

This is a non-exempt temp assignment with possibility of extension based on company needs and individual performance.

Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of optical, electrical, mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • Follow work instructions and manufacturing process instructions in performing standard tasks such as component installation, optical alignment, electrical wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing on sub-assemblies.
  • Install and glue optical assemblies, such as mirrors and lenses, in laser body, using precision instruments.
  • Perform assembly, adjustments and final testing to meet engineering specifications.
  • An attention to detail and an interest in working on state of the art laser systems are essential in this position.

Clinical Educator Specialist- Chicago

Teach and train clients (plastic surgeons, dermatologist, medical doctors, clinicians) on the use of aesthetic and surgical lasers. 

Location: Registered Nurse can be based  between Kansas and Chicago – Mid Central states. Important that the candidate is located near a major airport due to heavy traveling.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for initial post-sales training and subsequent training as necessary.
  • Resolve post-sale customer issues and clinical questions.
  • Create, revise and maintain clinical training manuals.
  • Design and implement customer and distributor training programs in the field; assist in evaluating the need for continuing education programs.

Field Service Engineer - Columbus Ohio

Sciton, Inc. (medical device aesthetic laser company)  is looking for a Field Service Engineer to cover the surrounding  region(s): Columbus Ohio. Due to heavy traveling the individual must live within a 30 minute radius of a major airport in this region.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, service and maintain medical laser systems; Nd :YAG , Er:YAG and intense pulsed light.

Electrical Engineer

Description: In this role the engineer will work very closely with the technical team. Individual will also work closely one of the founders and CEO of the company. Position is located in Palo Alto.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Know MOSFETs including n- and p-channel characteristics, logic and power, gate characteristics, drivers, use in H-bridges.
  2. Understand motors: AC, DC, BLDC, steppers, encoders, drivers, torque, back emf, etc.
  3. Design high current (400 A) circuits incorporating IGBTs to control the time duration of flashlamp pulses. The circuits will usually incorporate snubbing networks.
  4. Know how to use optoisolators.
  5. Be familiar with sensors: accelerometers, gyros, displacement, pressure, etc.
  6. Be familiar with SPICE.
  7. Know the C programming language.
  8. Be familiar with Programmable Logic Devices from Altera or Xilinx. Have experience in coding using Verilog.
  9. Be familiar with System Compliance Testing.
  10. Design logic circuits to communicate with various devices. Example: Use three Hall effect devices to determine the position of a mechanism. Use their states to encode a SMBus device.
  11. Be familiar with 74 series logic.
  12. Be familiar with opamps and their use as ordinary amplifiers, trans-impedance amplifiers, oscillators, peak detectors, integrators, constant current sources, etc.
  13. Design with voltage regulators, both linear and small switching regulators – using, for example, Linear Technology ICs. Be familiar with synchronous rectification.
  14. Understanding of I2C/SMBus devices and implementation.
  15. Be familiar with microcontrollers. How to use their onboard ADCs, DACs, timers, UARTs, etc. Write code for them.

Purpose of Position

Provide support in administrating domestic and international service contracts with Sciton customers. Position is located in Palo Alto and reports to the Associate Director of Global Service.

Responsibilities

Service Contracts:

  • Assist with preparation, review and administration of service contract proposals, including contract renewals and warranty conversions
  • Communicate with domestic and international customers the service provided to clients

Provide service operations support related to manufacturing and distribution of medical laser equipment to domestic and international customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Service Activities:

  • Assembly of customer orders and prepares goods for shipment.
  • Open calls within Sciton’s ERP system to track movement of parts and field service activity
  • Receipt of parts and closing calls to initiate billing upon completion of field service activities
  • Work with management to resolve issues that may surface during the call closing process
  • Update Material Order Spreadsheet during and after call processing.
  • Review and update customer installed base, as required
  • Feed necessary information to Accounting for invoice generation

Other Tasks:

  • Weekly Inventory
  • Assist with scanning and maintaining electronic device history records (eDHRs) and other corporate documentation
  • As assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred
  • 1-2 years of work experience, preferable within manufacturing operations
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Enterprise solution software familiarity is a plus
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly-organized, creative, enthusiastic, and capable of
    staying under control with pressure from multiple ongoing projects
  • Flexible, with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Compensation

The compensation package is comprised of base wage, performance bonus, and equity participation in a pre-public company. Sciton offers a competitive salary and incentive package which includes:
