PALO ALTO, Calif., May 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Sciton, Inc. a leading manufacturer of high-quality laser and light systems in the medical market, today announced the launch of their diVa® Center of Excellence Program to spotlight Urogynecologists, Urologists, OB/GYN’s and Gynecologists dedicated to improving the quality of life for women. The centers will be chartered to review data and outcomes optimizing best practices for women treated with the company’s diVa hybrid fractional vaginal laser.
This national program is part of Sciton’s Women’s Health Group commitment that raises the bar of peer-to-peer education and further strengthens collaboration and dissemination of knowledge providing a pathway for distinguishing leadership centers. This initiative is designed to recognize exemplary care of women suffering from vaginal conditions and the achievement of a high level of training and experience with the diVa hybrid fractional laser.
Center of Excellence Trailblazers
“We are excited to have the top women’s health physicians around the country with extensive experience treating women with the diVa hybrid fractional laser, and our Center of Excellence program is intended to highlight their commitment to providing the best care to their patients,” says Vice President of the Women’s Health Group, Aaron Burton.
“The diVa hybrid fractional laser uses Erbium/Diode which proves to be far superior technology for women suffering from multiple conditions, compared to existing CO2 technology. Our multi-center IRB has shown rapid and durable improvement of symptoms due to childbirth and menopause,” said Dr. Nathan Guerette, CEO of The Female Pelvic Medicine Institute of Virginia.
“As the first diVa provider with over 300 procedures in two years in my gynecology and aesthetics practices, being a Center of Excellence is something that we are quite proud to achieve. We are passionate about improving the lives of women and are honored to contribute to the science and research behind this elite technology,” commented Dr. Johnny Peet of The Woodlands Medical Ob/GYN Institute of Houston.
“Being employed with Carolina’s Health System and running a successful Urogynecology fellowship, diVa has treated a number of my patients who were hopeless from medications and surgery,” says Dr. Kevin Stepp. “I am excited to have a leadership role and be a part of Sciton’s Clinical Review Board. ”
Future innovations and solutions are also a strategic outcome planned for when designating these Center of Excellence locations. Sciton has committed to launching Center of Excellence locations throughout the nation. Key attributes of each center include criteria of magnitude user experience, recognition for being preceptorship sites supporting advanced training, attendance and presentations at major conferences and society meetings, specialized women’s health services including community investment outreach initiatives, and involvement in IRB and data submissions.
In addition to expanding diVa across the U.S., Sciton will also be focusing on increasing distribution internationally. “We’ve received strong interest from several of our key business partners and know that many have been looking for a way to transition into the growing women’s health market. We see diVa as an opportunity to help them realize this goal, but also recognize the vast potential it represents if we’re able to leverage the 20 years worth of happy users in the market,” says David Percival, General Manager for Sciton International.
