Sciton Introduces ClearSense, Featuring ClearToe for The Treatment of Nail Fungus

PALO ALTO, Calif. – April 1, 2011 — Sciton, a manufacturer of custom, modular, multi-application medical laser and light-based systems, is proud to introduce ClearSense, a versatile laser delivery technology with real-time temperature feedback for the safe and effective cosmetic improvement of dermatologic and vascular conditions.

ClearSense utilizes Sciton’s advanced laser technology and real-time temperature monitoring to enable the safe and effective treatment of a variety of indications including ClearToe*, a new treatment for nail fungus. “Patients who have never before had any success with other fungal therapies are seeing improvement in the appearance of their nails. It’s been a real winner for my patients,” commented Dr. Jill Waibel, a board certified dermatologist and the founder and owner of the Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute.  With ClearSense, physicians can also treat benign pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, warts, scars, and wrinkles, and use it for permanent hair reduction.

“With its ability to treat a broad range of conditions, including nail fungus, without any consumables, ClearSense provides an unsurpassed return-on-investment for our customers.  It joins a long line of innovative, best-in-class laser and light devices available from Sciton,” said Robert Ruck, Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing.  Available on the expandable JOULE platform, ClearSense can be acquired as an upgrade by owners of existing Sciton systems or as a single module on a new, standalone system.
