Two Sciton Treatments Featured on The Rachel Ray Show

With Sciton, it’s not too late to get your young body back

PALO ALTO, Calif. – October 21, 2010 — Sciton, a manufacturer of high-quality laser and light systems in the aesthetic medical market, announced today that their SkinTyte and ProFractional laser treatments were featured as a way to successfully treat stretch marks on The Rachel Ray Show. “As people age, things start shifting in our bodies and it can get a little depressing from time to time,” described Rachel Ray. She further explained, “It’s not too late to get your old body back,” like getting rid of stretch marks, which can be caused by pregnancy, rapid weight loss, or even hormonal shifts.

According to Dr. Jody Levine, a board-certified dermatologist from New York City, who was invited on the show to talk about how she treats stretch marks, “About 90% of women have stretch marks and they’re ugly.  There’s no getting around that.”

During the broadcast, Dr. Levine explained that she combines Sciton’s SkinTyte and ProFractional laser treatments to get rid of stretch marks. “SkinTyte is a procedure that delivers heat deeply into the dermis and it helps build collagen and firm up the skin,” said Dr. Levine.

The other laser she uses for stretch marks which “is more aimed at the texture of the stretch mark itself is the ProFractional laser. With ProFractional, you are basically drilling small channels into the skin and it causes injury to the skin.” She goes on to describe that, “The key point is that it is only treating a fraction of the skin so the skin around it remains intact. So it is much more comfortable and it heals much quicker.”

A SkinTyte treatment before and after photo result was shown which Rachel Ray described as unbelievable.  “That is amazing!  I would have believed that took a pretty major surgery [to get that kind of result],” Rachel Ray remarked.

SkinTyte utilizes infrared energy to deeply heat soft tissue while continuously protecting the entire treated area with sapphire contact cooling. This heating process causes soft tissue coagulation that tightens tissue and initiates the body’s natural healing process. Following treatment, a new foundation of collagen is created.  And unlike full-field resurfacing which removes the entire surface area of a treatment site, ProFractional laser therapy creates clean, micro-ablated channels in the skin, which activate fibroblast production and rejuvenate the collagen matrix. The result is the formation of new collagen and elastin, which combine to bring increased thickness and a healthy look to the skin.
