Administrative Assistant (Palo Alto, California)

Provide administrative services by implementing administrative processes, procedures, and administrative tasks. Will support the CEO, President and COO on a full time basis plus support a small group of engineers as needed.

Duties:

Software V & V Engineer

Position Description

This  Software V & V Engineer  takes ownership of the software quality assurance efforts related to new product development and product modifications for the Research and Development group.  The position is responsible for ensuring that new products have been effectively and efficiently verified and validated prior to their release for shipment and that these designs meet documented and implied user needs and requirements. Software quality assurance efforts are lifecycle oriented beginning during product requirements development and continuing throughout its lifetime.

This position will also be part of implementing software development tools to improve the overall quality of software, including peer reviews, software risk analysis, requirements traceability, defect tracking, configuration management and software tool validations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops test plans and protocols for proof of performance for medical devices.
  • Executes test plans and write reports to meet design control standards.
  • Extends plans and protocols as device features evolve.
  • Works closely with the software team to identify and correct defects that are found.
  • Performs risk analysis on software requirements and requested changes with the software team before the Implementation phase.
  • Communicates significant issues identified during validation activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar field.
  • 4-5 years of related experience in validating software in an FDA regulated industry required.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze software programming languages, preferably in C.
  • Must understand FDA software validation and life cycle requirements.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven record developing and executing software test protocols for complex medical devices.
  • Experience in Software Risk Analysis with medical devices is strongly preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and able to interface with cross functional teams.
  • Strong technical writing skills; able to explain technical terminology in layman’s terms to Product Development groups, peers and senior management.
  • Possess critical thinking skills and able to be assertive, and challenge the process in a diplomatic manner.

Manufacturing Final Test Technician

The Role

Work together as part of the final test team. Provides and test all sub-assemblies, alignment, build, testing, and complete of medical laser systems.  Repair of medical laser systems and subassemblies. The role will participate in all technical execution of new product development, assembly, and testing, including prototype development, qualification and troubleshooting and production. Assist engineering with development of new products and test procedures. Recommend quality and process improvements when required. Provide failure analysis of medical laser systems and subassemblies.  Maintain document control.
Responsibilities:

  • Test and Burn in sub-assemblies and systems to support manufacturing and service requirements.
  • Troubleshoot at board and system level using various testing equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and document controls.
  • Assist in failure analysis
  • Assist in evaluating product for certification and compliance.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of components, equipment and hardware.
  • Follow and Develop test procedures, best practices, processes, and reporting.
  • Various duties as necessary to support manufacturing, and engineering.

Skills needed:

Electrical Engineer (RF)

Job Description

Sciton, medical device aesthetic company located in Palo Alto, California is seeking a technical and   enthusiastic Power RF Electrical Engineer who can work closely with the CEO and Sr. Director on challenging RF projects.  Sciton provides an intellectually environment with excellent opportunities for technical and career growth.

RF Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing design, development and testing of RF power supplies (400 kHz to 10MHz; 100W and above) and high-power/high voltage flashlamp switching supplies.

Assembler – Temp Assignment

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for an Assembler. In this position you are responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Position will be based in Palo Alto, CA. and report to Manufacturing Manager.

This is a non-exempt long-term temp assignment with possibility of extension based on company needs and individual performance.

Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of optical, electrical, mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • Follow work instructions and manufacturing process instructions in performing standard tasks such as component installation, optical alignment, electrical wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing on sub-assemblies.
  • Install and glue optical assemblies, such as mirrors and lenses, in laser body, using precision instruments.
  • Perform assembly, adjustments and final testing to meet engineering specifications.

RMA Coordinator

Description:

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for a RMA Coordinator for a key role with our Service Department. You’ll provide logistical support related to material returns from domestic and international customers.

● Record data and generate returned material trends for management review
● Feed necessary information to Accounting for invoice generation
● Interface with Customs for parts returning internationally
● Assist with shipment and receipt of service parts (Domestic and International)
Internal Document Control:
● Assist with scanning and maintaining electronic device history records (eDHRs) and other corporate documentation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred
● Two to five years’ experience
● Computer skills in Microsoft Office required (Word and Excel)
● Enterprise solution software familiarity is a plus
● Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
● Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly-organized, creative, enthusiastic, and capable of
staying under control with pressure from multiple ongoing projects
● Flexible, with the ability to multi-task
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
