Embedded Software Developer

Sciton is looking for a creative Embedded Software Developer. In this role the Software Developer will work closely with the technical engineering team, and report to Director of Engineering. Individual will develop software for medical laser systems. Position is located in Palo Alto, California.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Solid programming skills in C/C++ and a strong track record.
  • 2+ years of Linux development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Qt/QML.
  • UI/UX design is a very strong plus.
  • Embedded development with microcontrollers such as ARM and 8051
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Experience structuring and maintaining large code bases
  • Ability to write device drivers for busses such as SPI and I2C
  • Experience with one or more Version Control Systems
  • The ability to write elegant, readable and maintainable code

Assembly Technician – Temp Assignment

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for an Assembler. In this position you are responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Position will be based in Palo Alto, CA. and report to Manufacturing Manager.

This is a non-exempt long-term temp assignment with possibility of extension based on company needs and individual performance.

Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of optical, electrical, mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • Follow work instructions and manufacturing process instructions in performing standard tasks such as component installation, optical alignment, electrical wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing on sub-assemblies.
  • Install and glue optical assemblies, such as mirrors and lenses, in laser body, using precision instruments.
  • Perform assembly, adjustments and final testing to meet engineering specifications.
  • An attention to detail and an interest in working on state of the art laser systems are essential in this position.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination are required.

Experience and Education

Must have previous Assembly experience

Work experience with medical products a plus. An AA diploma or equivalent experience desired.

Mathematica Software Engineer

Location: Northern California (Palo Alto)

Order Administration Associate

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device-Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for an Order Administration Associate for a key position with our Order Entry team.  The position will be based in Palo Alto and reports to the Order Administration Manager and works closely with the Manufacturing team.

Purpose of Position

The position will assist the Order Administration Manager and the Order Entry team in the order fulfillment process including order entry, processing and shipments.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process complex orders received via the company’s CRM and on-line ordering systems
  • Receive and process system installation documents
  • Maintain systems records and files
  • Initiate commission processing documents
  • Track demo and luminary systems in the field, including international carnet tracking
  • Provide backup support for shipping and front desk responsibilities
  • Interface with manufacturing, finance and field sales personnel for efficient processing of orders
  • Other responsibilities as required

Experience and Education

  • An associate college degree is preferred.
  • Two to four years previous experience in order administration and/or data entry
  • Acute attention to detail required
  • Good computer proficiency is required, specifically in CRM and Excel.  QAD ERP system experiences a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient interpersonal, communication and writing skills are also required.

Product Manager

Position: Product Manager
Location: Palo Alto, California

Description:

Develop marketing strategies and tactics to meet corporate sales objectives for one or more of Sciton’s aesthetic products from concept to obsolescence.  Reports to the Director of Marketing. Position is located in Palo Alto.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary interface between marketing and R&D for product development, product extensions, and new clinical applications.
  • Design market research projects to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions and recommend action plans from the research.
  • Act as point of first reference for all product related inquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues in Clinical Research and Regulatory to address any issues that may arise.
  • Develop knowledge of competitive products and companies and develop marketing strategies to address them.
  • Prepare competitor product information for the sales team.
  • Serve as product trainer for worldwide sales and marketing teams.
  • Create content for materials needed for marketing programs through the Marketing Communications team, providing input on strategic messaging, copy, image use. etc.
  • Create content to enable customers to better manage their marketing to their patients, including patient seminars, in-office merchandising and other practice marketing initiatives.
  • Support the development of consumer focused materials, understanding the needs of the consumer and creating clear materials that drive awareness and brand understanding.
  • Manage the launch of new products.
  • Work directly with key physicians to cultivate medical community relationships and monitor clinical sites/clinical research to help obtain data in order to achieve product goals.
  • Investigate new markets and propose new products within those markets; Identify trends throughout the medical marketplace, especially, but not limited to laser.
  • Manage the writing of white papers and peer-review papers as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
  • Approximately 25% travel is required

Qualifications:

  • 5  years technical product management or other relevant experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and project management skills, initiative, teamwork and success in other work related experiences.
  • Possess a strong ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • BS or BA in Marketing or technical-related field or equivalent.  MBA preferred and a plus.
  • Ability and desire to master scientific and technical content is a must.
  • Experience working in the medical device industry is strongly preferred.

RMA Coordinator

Description:

Sciton, Inc. (Medical Device- Aesthetic Lasers) is looking for a RMA Coordinator for a key role with our Service Department. You’ll provide logistical support related to material returns from domestic and international customers.

The position will be based in Palo Alto and report to the Associate Director of Global Services and works closely with the Manufacturing team as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Other Duties may be assigned)
RMA Coordination:
● Communicate with domestic and international customers to request return of Sciton service parts in accordance with standard procedures
● Monitor progress of incoming returned material (Domestic and International)
● Record data and generate returned material trends for management review
● Feed necessary information to Accounting for invoice generation
● Interface with Customs for parts returning internationally
● Assist with shipment and receipt of service parts (Domestic and International)
Internal Document Control:
● Assist with scanning and maintaining electronic device history records (eDHRs) and other corporate documentation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred
● Two to five years’ experience
● Computer skills in Microsoft Office required (Word and Excel)
● Enterprise solution software familiarity is a plus
● Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
● Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly-organized, creative, enthusiastic, and capable of
