This is a non-exempt long-term temporary assignment with possibility of extension based on company needs and individual performance.

Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Must have experience building frames. This role requires heavy lifting. Must be able to lift and carry heavy parts.
  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of optical, electrical, mechanical, electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations.
  • Follow work instructions and manufacturing process instructions in performing standard tasks such as component installation, optical alignment, electrical wiring, hand soldering and cable harnessing on sub-assemblies.
  • Install and glue optical assemblies, such as mirrors and lenses, in laser body, using precision instruments.
  • Perform assembly, adjustments and final testing to meet engineering specifications.
  • An attention to detail and an interest in working on state of the art laser systems are essential in this position.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

*Good manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination are required.

Experience and Education

  • Must have previous Assembly experience
  • Work experience with medical products a plus. An AA diploma or equivalent experience desired.

Technical Support Engineer- Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for repair, test, calibration and installation of laser systems, sub-systems and/or sub-assemblies
  • Report to management any potential problems which could impact timely completion of assigned tasks, equipment shortcomings, and more complex equipment problems

Accounting Specialist - Travel and Expense Analyst and Order Administrator

Summary: This dual role will provide support for Sciton’s Travel and Expense and Order Administration functions.  Position is based in Palo Alto, CA. and reports to the VP of Finance.   

Travel & Expense Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer Company Expense Reimbursement Guidelines for all employees
  • Provide expertise and training to employees on features and functions of the Abacus system, promoting a positive experience
  • Monitor travel reimbursement requests for all employees, ensuring that requests are in compliance with Company Guidelines
  • Manage and resolve employee inquiries on expense report payment policies, procedures and practices in a timely manner
  • Serve as the Company’s Administrator of the Abacus system
  • Maintain and routinely monitoring the quality and integrity the Abacus system
  • Serve as the Company’s Administrator of auto allowance reimbursement
  • Serve as the Company’s Administrator of Enterprise Auto Lease program
  • Assist with drafting new procedures for the company, and continue to add value by making suggestions in the overall T&E process for improvements
  • Assist with fraud or expense audits/investigations
  • Provide Leadership with reporting on expenses
  • Work with VP of Finance to identify and recommend opportunities to continue to drive operating costs down
  • Assist Accounting/Finance and HR Departments with administrative and reporting requests

Order Administration Responsibilities:

  • Process complex orders received via the company’s CRM and on-line ordering systems.
  • Initiate commission processing documents.
  • Provide backup support for shipping and front desk responsibilities.
  • Interface with manufacturing, finance and field sales personnel for efficient processing of orders.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Business Administration) preferred from an accredited college or Associate’s degree with 1-3 years Expense reimbursement or Accounting experience.

Service Support Associate—Shipping & Receiving

Description

Provide service operations support related to manufacturing and distribution of medical laser equipment to domestic and international customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Service Activities

  • Assembly of customer orders and prepares goods for shipment
  • Open calls within Sciton’s ERP system to track movement of parts and field service activity
  • Receipt of parts and closing calls to initiate billing upon completion of field service activities
  • Work with management to resolve issues that may surface during the call closing process
  • Update Material Order Spreadsheet during and after call processing.
  • Review and update customer installed base, as required
  • Feed necessary information to Accounting for invoice generation

Other Tasks

  • Weekly Inventory
  • Assist with scanning and maintaining electronic device history records (eDHRs) and other corporate documentation
  • As assigned by management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred
  • 1-2 years of work experience, preferable within manufacturing operations
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Enterprise solution software familiarity is a plus
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, highly-organized, creative, enthusiastic, and capable of
    staying under control with pressure from multiple ongoing projects

Sciton is looking for a creative Embedded Software Developer. In this role the Software Developer will work closely with the technical engineering team, and report to Director of Engineering. Individual will develop software for medical laser systems.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Solid programming skills in C/C++ and a strong track record.
  • Embedded development with microcontrollers such as ARM and 8051
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Experience structuring and maintaining large code bases
  • 2+ years of Linux development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Qt/QML.
  • UI/UX design is a very strong plus.
  • Ability to write device drivers for busses such as SPI and I2C
  • Experience with one or more Version Control Systems
  • The ability to write elegant, readable and maintainable code
