Deal Desk Analyst – Palo Alto, CA

Purpose of Position

Sciton is growing at an incredible rate with a huge amount of that growth in our sales organization. We are looking for a Deal Desk Analyst who is ready to roll up their sleeves and support our team in Palo Alto. Reporting to the Director of Commercial Operations, this role will be a key business partner for our Global sales team.

You will have an opportunity to work cross-functionally throughout our organization on a variety of projects. For this role, an analytical mindset and attention to detail are imperative. The current configure-price-quote process is undergoing radical changes and we need you to be a driver in the seat. You will be working directly with our sales team on the quote to cash process while maintaining high levels of integrity and collaborating with Finance/Legal to ensure all deals meet compliance.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Manage the day-to-day quote and order fulfillment process
  • Partner with Sales to ensure opportunities are properly created and tracked in Salesforce including stage, probability, booking amount, and various other required fields
  • Provide proactive support and guidance to the sales team in order to help drive new deals as well as up-sell opportunities
  • Maintain an agreed upon Service Level Agreement (SLA) on deal turnaround times
  • Help drive projects and initiatives focused on improving productivity and simplifying processes throughout the sales operations and sales organization
  • Serve as an escalation point when needed to help move deals forward

Experience and Education

  • Experience with both Channel and Direct Sales model is highly desirable
  • Experience with Salesforce, QAD, Infor a Plus
  • A love for change and an ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and analytical with strong organizational skills
  • Experience working varied hours to accommodate volume fluctuations caused by sales cycles, seasonality, and emergencies

Purpose of Position

The Corporate Controller will lead the accounting functions of the company. He or she will be part of a team that implements accounting policies and procedures, with a goal of identifying and resolving issues, streamlining the close process and collaborating with Manufacturing to improve inventory and COGS valuation. The Controller will be instrumental and take a key role in the upgrading our accounting technology infrastructure to support the Company’s growth.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead team of accounting professionals in their responsibilities of:
    • Month-end close including foreign subsidiary consolidation, A/P, A/R, commission processing, sales & use tax compliance, employee expense reporting, fixed asset tracking
  • Team with the Director of Manufacturing to ensure the accuracy of inventory and COGS valuation and reporting
  • Manage the annual financial audit by external CPA firm and internal resources
  • Preparation of financial statements and footnotes
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return with external CPA firm
  • Review and record of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activities

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Masters in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration
  • Eight to ten years accounting and cost accounting experience with progressively increasing responsibility, preferably with exposure to the medical device industry
  • CPA with Public Accounting experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of GAAP and technical financial reporting
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Infor CSI, QAD, Salesforce.com)
  • Systems conversion and implementation experience

  • Teach and train clients (plastic surgeons, dermatologist, medical doctors, and clinicians) on the use of aesthetic and surgical lasers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing all sourcing/procurement activities for the assigned categories.
  • Develops and implements a sourcing management strategy for these categories assigned.
  • Identifies, develops and manages supplier relationships.
  • Analyzes supplier performance on a yearly basis.
  • Participates in new ERP implementation and maintenance.
  • Requires significantly complex decision-making and significant financial responsibility.
  • Develops solutions to problems using independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
  • Manage client relationships with internal senior management.
  • Expected to take the leadership/consulting role in executing sourcing strategies.

  • Excellent communication, customer interaction and phone interaction skills required.

Work Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electronics, Laser Technology or equivalent with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in electronic system troubleshooting/technical support/ customer service/dispatch experience.
  • Medical device experience a strong plus.
